Our Remodeling and Home Improvement Services in New Jersey
Five service lines, all residential, all handled by YS Construction LLC. Remodeling, painting, flooring, plumbing and hardscaping. Each section below covers what the service includes, how the work is sequenced and what gets decided before anything starts.
Home Remodeling and Interior Renovations in New Jersey
Home remodeling covers the rooms you actually use every day. Kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling and full interior renovations for homeowners. The goal is a layout that works better, not just a room that looks newer. YS Construction LLC handles cabinet installation, countertop fitting, tile work, drywall, framing and finish carpentry on the same job. One residential remodeling contractor owns the result from demolition through trim.
Layouts are drawn before anything comes out. That is when plumbing runs, electrical, lighting placement and door swings get decided. Permits are pulled where the township requires them. Not halfway through the job, when the walls are already open. By then the cabinets are on order and every change costs money and pushes the schedule.
What This Includes
- Kitchen remodeling: cabinets, countertops, backsplash, sink and layout
- Bathroom remodeling: tile, vanity, shower, tub and fixtures
- Interior renovations: framing, drywall, trim and interior doors
- Home improvement: repairs, replacements and finish work indoors
- Exterior improvements: siding, trim, railings and entry doors
Interior and Exterior Painting in New Jersey
Paint is the cheapest way to change how a house looks. It is also the fastest way to ruin one, if the prep gets skipped. YS Construction LLC handles interior painting and exterior painting for residential properties. Walls, ceilings, trim, doors, railings, siding, soffits and fascia. One room or the full exterior of the house. Sample boards and color matching come before the first gallon.
Surfaces get washed, scraped, patched and primed before the first finish coat. Caulk goes into the gaps and nail holes get filled. Two coats go on, cut in by hand at the edges and ceilings. Furniture and floors are covered every day, not just on the first. Exterior work waits on dry, warm weather.
What This Includes
- Interior painting: walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets
- Exterior painting: siding, soffits, fascia, shutters and railings
- Wall painting: patching, priming and two full coats
- Residential painting: single rooms or the whole house
- Exterior surface painting: prep, sealing and weather protection
Flooring Installation in New Jersey Homes
New flooring changes a room faster than anything else. A bad install shows within a year. YS Construction LLC handles hardwood flooring, laminate flooring and vinyl flooring for residential floor installation. Underlayment, transitions, thresholds, baseboards and quarter round are part of the job. Each room is measured and cut on its own, not pushed through as one run. Old flooring is removed and hauled out.
Subfloors are checked for level and for movement before the first plank goes down. Dips get shimmed or leveled. A floor that squeaks or lifts at the seams almost always traces back to what was underneath. Not the plank itself. Expansion gaps at the walls matter just as much, especially with laminate and vinyl plank.
What This Includes
Hardwood flooring: solid plank, engineered plank and trim
Laminate flooring: click-lock planks over prepared, level subfloor
Vinyl flooring: waterproof plank for kitchens and bathrooms
Residential floor installation: measuring, cutting, transitions and thresholds
Flooring installation: subfloor prep, underlayment and floor removal
Remodeling and Home Improvement Plumbing in New Jersey
This is remodeling plumbing, not emergency service. When a bathroom or kitchen is rebuilt, the supply lines, drains and fixtures are part of the same job. YS Construction LLC handles bathroom plumbing and kitchen plumbing in house. That covers shut-off valves, sink and tub drains, shower valves, toilet flanges and fixture sets. There is no scheduling the whole job around an outside plumber's calendar.
Rough-in gets set and inspected before the walls close. Water lines are pressure tested and drain lines get checked for slope. Fixtures go in at the end, once the tile and the paint are finished. That keeps new sinks, tubs and faucets out of the way. Nothing gets chipped before the whole job is finished.
What This Includes
- Bathroom plumbing: shower valves, tub drains and toilets
- Kitchen plumbing: sink drains, supply lines and hookups
- Plumbing installation: new lines, valves and fixture sets
- Plumbing repairs: leaks, worn valves and failed connections
- Remodeling plumbing: rough-in, pressure testing and final connections
Paver Patios, Driveways and Walkways in New Jersey
Hardscaping is the part of the property people walk on and park on. Paver patios, concrete driveways, walkways and sidewalks built to carry weight and shed water. YS Construction LLC handles paver installation and concrete work for residential properties. Excavation, base preparation, edge restraints, joint sand and grading are part of every job. Every surface is sized to the space and how it gets used.
Every hardscape starts underground. Excavation to the right depth, a compacted stone base and grading that moves water away from the foundation. Edge restraints keep the outside rows from spreading. Joint sand locks the pavers together. Pavers that are set on soft ground look fine for about one season. After that, they start to move.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from New Jersey homeowners before starting a project.
Who supplies the materials, you or me?
Either way works. You can have us source and price the materials, which shows up as a line in the estimate. If you'd rather pick your own tile or cabinets, that's fine. Just tell us before we price the job.
What happens if something comes up that wasn't in the original scope?
Old houses hide things. If we open a wall and find rot, bad wiring or a pipe that has to move, we stop. You get the number before we touch it, and then you approve the change or you don't.
Do you take small jobs, or only full renovations?
Small jobs are fine. One bathroom, one room of flooring, a driveway. Not every project has to be a gut renovation. Tell us what you've got and we'll tell you straight whether it's something we can fit into the schedule.
How far out is the schedule?
It moves. Summer and early fall book up faster, and exterior work depends on weather. When you call, we'll tell you the real window instead of a nice-sounding one. If we can't get to it in time, we'll say so.
What do you need from me before work starts?
A signed scope, access to the space and a decision on materials. For interior work, clear out what you don't want moved by the crew. For exterior work, we'll need to know where the property lines and sprinkler heads sit.
Can I stay in the house during a kitchen or bathroom remodel?
Most people do. We seal off the work area and cover the floors going in and out. Cleanup happens at the end of every day. A one-bathroom house during a bathroom remodel is the hard case. We'll plan around it.
Do you help with layout and material selection, or do I need my own plans?
You don't need plans drawn up. We'll walk the space, talk through what you want out of the room, and lay out where things should go. If you already have a designer or your own drawings, we'll build to those.
Do you paint over wallpaper, or does it have to come off?
It has to come off. Paint over wallpaper and the seams telegraph through. The edges lift and the whole wall gets redone in a year. Stripping it and skim-coating the wall costs more up front and a lot less overall.
How many coats do you apply?
Two finish coats over a coat of primer, as a rule. Some colors need a third, especially a strong red or a deep blue going over something light. We'll tell you at the estimate whether your color is one of those.
Can you install new flooring over the existing floor?
Sometimes. Laminate and vinyl can go over a floor that's flat, solid and dry. Over old tile or a floor that flexes, no. We check the subfloor and tell you which way it has to go before anything is ordered.
Do you move the furniture and remove the old flooring?
Yes to both, and it's in the estimate so there's no surprise later. Heavy pieces like a piano or a safe are the exception, and we'll flag those up front. Old flooring gets hauled out, not stacked in the driveway.
Do you do plumbing work outside of remodeling projects?
Our plumbing runs with remodeling and home improvement work. If you're rebuilding a bathroom or kitchen, we handle the plumbing inside that job. For a standalone leak or a water heater on its own, you'll want a dedicated service plumber.
Can you move a sink, toilet or shower to a different spot?
Usually, yes. Moving a fixture means moving supply lines and drains, and drains need slope, so the floor structure decides what's possible. We'll look underneath before promising anything. Sometimes a few inches is easy and a few feet just isn't.
How long before we can walk or drive on a new paver patio or driveway?
Pavers are ready sooner than poured concrete. You can usually walk on a paver patio right after the joint sand is set. A concrete driveway needs curing time before a vehicle goes on it, and we'll give you the date.
Do pavers shift or sink over time?
They shift when the base was wrong. Not enough excavation, stone that wasn't compacted, or water running toward the patio instead of away from it. Done right, a paver surface stays put and a single sunken paver can be reset.
